On my drive home I had visions of slipping them on and looking like a proper soccer star, strutting around town in my shower shoes, certain I’d look awesome.

When a friend calls to tell me he bought a new car my mind runs through all the amazing possibilities. When I learn that it is a Camry my excitement holds – it doesn’t increase.

The yoga mat material sole is fine with no amazing arch support, but much more comfortable and ergonomic than a cursory profile view would have one surmise.

That’s when it clicked. I’ve never been to Fiji, but if these flip flops are any indication of life on that tropical island paradise, it is obvious that one just goes barefoot there. 

Their thin neon yellow straps reach far back from the toe post like a Major League Pitcher at the peak of his power position as he dishes up a 100-mph fastball.

They’re not the flip flops you’d bring home to meet your parents but are exactly what you want from a bleached blonde, silicone enhanced, summer fling.

Featureless doesn’t begin to describe their flatness. In fairness they did sort of start to conform to my feet the more I wore them but barely.

One of the pros of these flip flops is that they have the ability to hold that sexy stranger’s attention so as to distract from the obvious discomfort expressed on the wearer’s face.
