Upon opening and trying on my OluKai Pikoi’s, I was not mad, just disappointed. After working my way through several pairs, I’ve come to appreciate the OluKai brand and was looking forward to another properly sized well-crafted set.

I connected with these flip flops instantly. Slipping them on was nearly as significant a personal moment as that concert years ago with my future bride by my side.

Yet you somehow can’t Zen in Crocs; something about these polyifaildatchemistry shoes that creates a barrier between one’s soul and the earth. Damn it, I hate myself.

The Seaside Flip has a serious and unfortunate toe curl issue. The gap from supple soft thong to cork footbed is too great for my narrow feet.

In further service to their lummox aesthetic, the footbed is intentionally, but half-heartedly, lumpy. They look like they’ve got the mumps. In the end, the brand name, Rider, really says it all.

Say what you will about all organic Aunt Esther, though her acts may sometimes be awkward and clumsy, there is no arguing that her heart is in the right place.

Overall these are ok flip flops. It’s just too bad that the coolness of the Movember moustache is almost entirely negated by the Cobian styling and loose fit.

The Sanuk Sidewalker is completely happy in its own skin and doesn’t worry about trying to impress anyone
